Spend the day in the Quinault Rain Forest touring through the mossy old-growth forests that surround the South Shore of Lake Quinault. View towering trees, including the world's largest Sitka spruce, mosses, ferns, waterfalls, the lake, the river, and hopefully, wildlife such as elk or bear. Start the experience at the Rain Forest Nature Trail, an easy .5 mile loop and a must see in the Quinault Valley. After this, you'll travel a short distance to the Lake Quinault Lodge with an opportunity to hike the .9 mile Lakeshore Trail to the Willaby Campground and back or you can just relax at the Lodge and enjoy the view. After lunch, we will head to the world's largest Sitka Spruce, a short .2 mile hike. No trip would be complete without a visit to this 1,000-year old giant. Bring money to purchase lunch in the Lodge restaurant or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the lakeshore. This tour has something for all ages. Total distance is 2.7 miles. Difficulty rating: Easy
