Lakewold Gardens is a premier Northwest garden experience which is dedicated to preserving and
enhancing the historic gardens and offering each visitor an inspirational experience. You will be strolling through a period in garden history when classic European design came face to face with America's emerging landscape masters. We will receive the VIP treatment with our scheduled, guided grand tour lead by a docent that will provide historical and horticulturally-focused interpretation. After eating our picnic lunch at Lakewold, we will travel to the City of Steilacoom's Sunnyside Beach for a short beach walk with views of the Olympics. Next, we head back to Olympia to visit the former Art Zabel Rhododendron Garden which is now managed by the City of Olympia and called the Springwood Parcel. Many locals will remember the garden when the Zabel's opened the garden to the public each May. This time of the year, many of the Rhododendrons and Azaleas will be in bloom. Bring a picnic lunch and money for a hot drink or snack at the San Francisco Street Bakery at the end of the day. Fee includes all admissions.
