This new trail (completed in 2011 after devastating floods) offers a brand new route to one of the mountain's most iconic glaciers. We will start from the White River Campground and travel through forest which partly follows the old wagon route to the 19th Century Storbo Copper Mine site. We will end up near the headwaters of the Inter Fork of the White River and the gateway to Mt. Rainier's Inter Glacier. Round trip is 6.5 miles with an elevation gain of 1,600 ft. The high point is 5,900 ft. Difficulty rating: Moderate.
