    The gondola ride at Crystal Mountain will whisk you away to the top of the world so you are able to witness the spectacular views of the Cascades and Mt. Rainier. You travel almost 2,500 ft. over alpine terrain in less than 10 minutes. It is an unforgettable journey. You can get a drink or snack at the Summit House and take in the views before heading down the Crystal Mountain Trail. We will hike back to the base through meadows and ski bowls, by alpine lakes, and even pass through an old mining camp, while taking in the wildlife, wildflowers and scenery. This is a 6 mile hike which should take 3 hours. Bring a sack lunch to eat on the trail. Difficulty rating: Moderate.

    Experience the 'sport of kings' at Emerald Downs, the premier facility for horse racing in the Pacific Northwest. This date includes the Muckleshoot Derby which is the first race of the Northwest Triple Crown. Post time is 2:00 pm but we will arrive early with time to check out the facility, the paddock, and the horses. Your fee includes reserved grandstand tickets, but there are many other free seating options, including: track level apron, the “Paddock,” or out in the “Park” where picnic tables are located. You can bring a picnic lunch and drinks and small, hand held coolers. No glass or unsealed containers or bottles allowed. Leave the driving and parking to us and experience the thrill of horse racing in this safe, family-friendly environment!

    Travel to Bainbridge Island and experience the beauty and tranquility of Bloedel Reserve’s classic Northwest woodlands and gardens. Described as “forest therapy”, you will meander through this 150 acre estate of natural and landscaped garden, ponds, meadows, and traditional Japanese garden. The path is about 2 miles and easy walking except for a few areas with stairs and step terrain. This trip includes a morning stop at Sluys Poulsbo Bakery for some pastry or breads, lunch after our Bloedel adventure at the Beach Glass Café, followed by a visit to the Suquamish Museum and Cultural Center. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring money for lunch. Fee includes admission to the garden and the museum.
