707751 - Snowy Owl Adventure & Hike at Damon Point

707751 - Snowy Owl Adventure & Hike at Damon Point

The elusive Snowy Owl has been a 'no show' on our coast for the last couple of years, but we are trying it AGAIN because the visit to the coast is worth it, owls or no owls. With four miles of beach walking and water on three sides, Damon Point is one of the best winter places to hike and view wildlife in the North Beach area of the Pacific Coast. A sunny day will reveal views of Mt. Rainier, the Olympics, and Westport on the other side of the harbor. Bring your binoculars or telephoto lenses to capture shorebirds, bald eagles and especially look for visiting snowy owls and endangered snowy plovers. Although, located within the harbor, it does get windy, wet, and cold so dress for the weather. Bring money for lunch at a local eatery. Difficulty rating: Easy
